ABOUT JEFF

Jeff Hopkins is a storyteller, web series host, illustrator, and long-time advocate for the arts in education. He is the creator and host of the popular Guggenheim Museum web series “Sketch with Jeff”, which has been seen by viewers around the world on the museum’s website and social media.  “Sketch with Jeff” has also appeared for three seasons as a segment on the PBS television show “Camp TV”.  Episodes of "Sketch with Jeff" can be found on the Sensical streaming network for kids.

 

Jeff performs his live drawing/storytelling shows for students and families at arts institutions, schools, and libraries across the country. He has also worked as a Teaching Artist for arts institutions including the Whitney Museum, MoMA, The Jewish Museum,  ArtsConnection, American Ballet Theatre, and the Guggenheim. He has taught at Tufts University and New York University, and currently teaches Art Education at the City College of New York.

 

Jeff has created illustrations for more than two dozen early-reader books for children. His hardcover book The Only One Club (by Jane Naliboff, Flashlight Press) was named a Society of International Librarians Honor Book. Jeff holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters in Education from Harvard University.
